dc.description.abstract | This research aims to find out what the Compare-Diagnose-Operate (CDO) strategy can be significant effect on the ability to write narrative texts in grade 8 SMP N 8 Medan. This research used experimental research with this type of research. The design used pre-test and post-test independently. This research design looks at students' abilities before and after using the CDO (Compare- Diagnose-Operate) strategy. Sample of this research are 24 students for the experimental class and 24 students for the control class of class 8 of SMP N 8 Medan. Data collection The technique was carried out with a written test. The results of this research show that there is the influence of the CDO (Compare- Diagnose-Operate) strategy. On the abilities of grade 8 students in writing narrative texts at SMP N 8 Medan. This is evident from higher up average score of students after using the CDO strategy. Based on data analysis using the t-test. It is known that the average in the experimental class is 0.81, while in the control class it is 0.71. The standard deviation value in the experimental class is greater than the control class. It means Ho rejected and Ha accepted. It means Learning with the CDO (Compare-Diagnose-Operate) strategy significantly affects the ability of eighth grade students in writing narrative texts at SMP N 8 Medan. | en_US |
