dc.description.abstract | Directive speech act is a part of illucutoonary that aims to invite the listener or someone to do something. Translation technique is the process of duplicating messages fromSourceLanguage (SL) as close as possible to the Target Language (TL). This study aims to identify the type of directive speech act and translation directive speech act of the movie entitled Toy Story 2. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative method. The data of this study is the utterance of directive speech act of the movie Toy Story 2 English to Indonesia. The data was analyzed vBy applying the tehory of searle and vanderveken‟s (1975) to classifying the types of directive speech act and use the theory Molina and Albir (2002) to classifyng the translation technique used by translator in translating directive speech act. The results of this study found that there are 10 types of directive speech acts found from 116 data. Ordering is the most dominant type of speech act found which is 34 data (29%). Followed by commanding (25%), and question (22%), meanwhile the types of directive speech act that are slightly found are incited and beg (1%). Meanwhile, there are 15 types of directive speech act translation techniques found from 116 data. The dominant literal translation technique is found in 50 data (29%) followed by established equivalent translation in 50 data (29%). While the least frequent types of translation techniques are compensation, modulation and generelaziation techniques with 1 data each (1%). | en_US |
