    Abstract
    This study deals with the analysis of using conjunction in the novel “you’ve reached sam” by Dustin Thao. The objective of the study was to recognize the types of conjunction and the dominant of conjunction in the novel “you’ve reached sam” by Dustin Thao. This study used descriptive qualitative research. The researcher focuses on analyzing internal conjunctions in the novel which consists of 18 chapters. The instrument for collecting data was document analysis. The researcher found there were 3,693 data for conjunction. The finding of data analysis showed that the types of conjuntion used in the novel “you’ve reached sam” by Dustin Thao were additive, adversative, causal, and temporal. The result showed the total number of each type where additive were 37,26%, adversative 19,14%, causal 26,13%, and temporal 17,47%. The dominant type was additive. The benefits of this research make reader easier understand the structure of connecting word in the sentences, so that not be confused in determining the utilization of connecting word in the various sentences context especially in the novel “you’ve reached sam” by Dustin Thao.
